Rural Housing Needs Survey (2013)
Between September and October 2013 a rural housing needs survey was sent out to all residential households within Hankelow Parish to assess the affordable housing needs within the parish.
123 surveys were sent out and 64 returned, giving a response rate of 52%. Three houses were unoccupied at the time of the survey.
The survey highlighted several types residents with a housing need within the parish:
The survey showed that 40% of respondents were in favour of a small development of affordable housing within the parish; 42% against and 18% unsure either way.

- 2 respondents requiring alternative housing
- 7 current Hankelow residents who wish to form a new household within the village within the next 5 years
- 7 ex-Hankelow residents would move back into the parish if affordable housing was available
