Regulation 19 - Referendum
The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (Regulation 19).
Having completed the Regulation 17 and 18 inspection in February 2021, the plan proceeded to the Referendum, which took place in Hankelow Community Hall on May 6th, 2021. The Notice of Referendum can be seen here and the referendum version of the plan can be downloaded here.
The Referendum was conducted in accordance with procedures which are similar to those used at local government elections.The question asked in the Referendum was: “Do you want Cheshire East Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Hankelow to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”.
The results were that 154 residents voted, a turnout of 53.5%, and 141 voted "Yes" with 13 voting "No".The Declaration can be seen here.
